Send My Friend to School

The whole school took part in the 'Send my Friend to School' campaign, where children designed and made rucksacks to give to Greg Mullholland, our local MP to pass the message on to Parliament. He personally came to school to collect them and passed them on to our new Secretary of State Priti Patel MP.rnrnThe campaign is run across Primary and Secondary Schools yearly. This years focus, was 'Education in Emergencies'. Tens of millions of children are missing out on education due to emergencies, such as displacement, conflict, health crises or natural disaster. The campaign allows other children to 'speak out'; for children who are missing out on school for these reasons and asks that governments come together to support and restore access to education. Did you know that less than 2% of aid in emergencies goes on education? £3 billion extra is needed each year to help.
