Site Manager / Superintendent

B1, Point 13 £16,491 pa

 

Annualised contract

35 hours per week during term-time; 15 hours per week during school holidays

(paid as 30 hours per week all year round) 20 days holiday + bank holidays

Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the school

 

Start date: Monday 19 March 2018, or as soon as possible after this date

We are keen to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person who will maintain our school site to a high standard, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community.

 

The successful candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently and be willing to undertake any necessary training.

 

Some of the duties will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Responsibility as first key holder and undertake associated call out duties, including initial response to fire and intruder alarms
  • Ensuring full security of the school building, including unlocking and locking (early morning and early evening)
  • Ensuring effective operation of the system of Planned Preventative Maintenance, undertaking appropriate weekly repairs e.g. redecorating and fixing, plumbing, changing light bulbs, unblocking drains, etc.
  • Attending appropriate ‘Health and Safety’ training courses when requested including first aid, legionella, COSHH, PAT testing and ground maintenance machinery
  • Grounds management, including grass cutting, weeding and tree maintenance
  • Co-ordinating with contractors and lettings
  • Weekly Health and Safety checks such as fire alarm, fire equipment, emergency lighting & legionella
  • Daily cleaning of designated areas and emergency cleaning of other areas as necessary
  • Undertaking clear, detailed record keeping and monitoring / managing stock within an agreed budget
  • Attending meetings as appropriate, including Health and Safety Governors Sub-committee

Lunchtime Assistant

A1 point 8 - £8.25 per hour

Working Hours: 1.5 hours per day (11.45-13.15) for 5 days per week, or as many days as available

Start date: 19 February 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter

 

Term Time Only

 

Our friendly and successful school requires a dedicated individual to join our professional lunchtime team.  Duties include:

 

  • Supervising children on the playground and in the dinner hall
  • Ensuring that all children are able to play safely
  • Offering care and support throughout lunchtime
  • Working as a team member under the direction of the Lunchtime Supervisor
  • Promoting positive play and high standards of behaviou
  • Reporting and documenting any accidents and incidents that occur during lunchtime in line with school policies and procedures and reporting these to the Lunchtime Supervisor
  • Being watchful of any potentially hazardous situations e.g. slippery floors etc.
  • Attending and participating in training and development courses as required
  • Attending meetings, liaising and communicating with colleagues in the school
  • Having due regard to confidentiality, child protection procedures, health and safety, other statutory requirements and the policies of the governing body
  • Treating pupils and colleagues consistently with respect and consideration
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team; and carrying out roles effectively, knowing when to seek help and advice from colleagues

 

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) form in line with Section 115 of The Police Act 1997.
