'Thank you so much to Max and Leah for showing us round today, they are an absolute credit to your school, two very polite children and they did a fantastic job!' - Prospective parents; Dec '18

'Hi there, I just wanted to thank all the Reception staff and Mrs Fox for such a special assembly on Friday for the bible presentations. It’s such a nurturing and warm environment that you have created and I’m so happy Ruby is a part of it all. She was so happy on Friday, all the children were and it brought tears to my eyes. We’re very lucky to have such a lovely school with amazing teachers and such strong leadership. Thank you.' - Holly Connolly, Parent (18 June 2018)

'Super open evening in school this evening. Lovely to be part of the whole school community working together to make positive changes. Staff and children were enthusiastic and helpful. Great to hear the school is trying new ideas and open to other ways of learning. Excited to see what happens next!'  - Vicki Binks; Parent (7th Feb 2018)

A wonderful, heart-warming letter from a Grandparent...

'I have been attending the Reception Class Open Mornings on a Tuesday and have really enjoyed each one of these. A lovely chance to spend some time with my son in his classroom and see what fantastic things he and his friends have been up to. The staff have created a nurturing and happy space where children seem really keen to play and learn - a real treat!' - Vicki Binks; Parent (21st November 2017)
'Great harvest celebration today. A lovely atmosphere in school, as always!' -Vicki Binks, Parent (7th October 2016)

'It was wonderful to see so much emphasis on praising children for their resilience in the celebration assembly. Building perseverance is such an important attribute to have and I am proud my child attends a school where this is being instilled from such a young age. Fabulous to have the children pray and be given time to reflect on their week.' -Anna Mason, Parent (11th March 2016)

'You have got a good site!' -Oliver M, pupil (February 2016)
'I had the pleasure of attending the celebration assembly this morning. As a parent of a child in Reception, it was a real treat to be part of such a positive and happy start to the day. The children receiving awards were each given some very personal praise and had their work admired by the rest of the school. There was a real 'feel good' factor in the hall that was very infectious! On a personal note, my daughter came home with a beaming smile and feeling very proud of her efforts. Can't really beat that! Thank you.' Vicki Binks, Parent (22nd January 2016)
'A fantastic healthy week, lots of fun activities outside and using our outside space which we are so lucky to have. Amelia has loved it all but especially making the healthy pudding! We have been having pudding made by her for the rest of the week :-) Well done all staff!' - Jo Wood, Parent (July 2015)
'Congratulations to Y6 on your marvellous help at the KS1 sports day. It was really wonderful to see Y6 pupils encouraging, supporting, cheering and sometimes carrying some of their younger counterparts over the finishing line. You were all a real credit to our school.' - Jean Fisher, Parent (July 2015)
'We attended sports day for the first time this year and really enjoyed the morning. We were very impressed with the way the older children looked after the younger ones. Thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Thank you.' - Judith Fisher, KS1 Grandparent (July 2015)

Thank you for inviting me to your assembly on Friday for Good Learning behaviour - I really enjoyed joining in and hearing all the schools news. It was light hearted, great fun (lots of laughter) and wonderful to see how well ALL the children are doing. It was a very positive way to spend half an hour of my time and the children are very fortunate to attend such a great school. Keep up the good work Mrs Fox!

Thank you so much for such positive feedback! We all look forward to these Friday Celebration assemblies so much; they remind us of how much effort our pupils - and staff - put in to school life :-) Mrs Fox

Are the slides from the transition meetings available on the website please? I was unable to attend the meeting due to work commitments and can't seem to find them on the website.....

The slides should be on the class page of your child's current class. I have emailed our teachers to remind them to upload these if they haven't already - thanks! Mrs Fox : - )

Congratulations to all involved on a really well run maths calculation workshop. I spent time with children in KS1 and KS2 and was impressed by their confidence when explaining the various strategies and their workings to me. I now feel equipped to deal with any questions from my children next year - be it number lines, division by chunking or multiplication using an extended grid. Well done.

Thank you for this great feedback! The children were outstanding weren't they? It's fab to hear you got as much out of the workshop as we'd hoped. Look out for more in the autumn, using this winning formula (yes - more child labour!) Mrs Fox :-)

Hi :)
Today, I was just reminiscing over happy memories from this fantastic school, I attended from 2004-5 to 2009, and it was a wonderful experience (Apart from the public information films on VHS :P, I'l never throw a Frisbee into a sub station, don't worry! ). I'm now in year 11, and still look back with fondness upon the school assemblies, the vast break time areas, and the overall ethos of the school. I especially loved that the songs we sang in assembly were backed by the Music teacher on Piano, who's name I've unfortunately forgotten :(

I now play Piano and Bass Guitar, and have a lot of fun recreating the songs from my childhood on it, I can play "Autumn Days" and "Cauliflowers Fluffy" from memory :)

Thank you for being fantastic!

Hello John - it's lovely to hear from you and how well you're doing! Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Mrs Fox :-)

Thank you for a really useful Maths Calculation workshop tonight. It was particularly useful to see the children explaining the strategies themselves. The children were very articulate and informative - a real credit to the school.

Thank you very much for this great feedback! We were especially proud of the children and how well they explained their strategies and working out. We will repeat the workshop again in the Autumn term - and future workshops will also involve our fantastic pupils! Mrs Fox :-D

Why is it costing £8 per child for Mathletics?
A quick search of the internet brought this back:

"Mathletics licences at £2.75 per head if purchased through Nottingham City Council via Education Services Nottingham, please complete the order form below. The Standard rate is £3.50-£6 per license"

Sounds like we are being asked to subsidising the school budget...

The 8 pounds total is the cost of Mathletics and Reading Eggs / Reading Eggspress. The company who provide these programmes vary the price per pupil based on the number of pupils on roll in a school; the more pupils, the less a school pays. We fall into the 4 pound per pupil bracket and therefore the amount we asked from parents is exactly that being charged to the school. Considering the 8 pounds is per pupil for the entire year, to access BOTH programmes, we feel it is very reasonable. Mrs Fox :-)

I am a bit confused about the new school meals system. Do the children have to stick to the same colour choice for the whole week, or can they choose different colours on different days?

They can choose different colours throughout the week, they will be choosing one week in advance in order for the kitchen to have all the food available. We have seen it in action at Adel Primary and it all worked very well. There will be the list up in the classroom so if the children forget what they have ordered they can check. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us at school.

Thank you for the parents' evening last night. You answered all my questions and it was very informative. I found it particularly useful to see the progress our daughter has made by comparing the level she has achieved now with the level she was at in October at the previous parents evening

Thank you very much for this positive feedback! It's pleasing to hear you found the communication regarding levels and progress so useful. Mrs Fox
