Using research to drive school improvement

Shortly after joining the Chartered College of Teaching as a Founding Member, our Headteacher, Sally Fox, was inspired to develop and implement a research-informed school development plan. The Chartered College is following Sally and the teaching team at Pool to share our journey toward research-informed improvement in school.

Celebrating Outdoor Classroom Day - 12th October 2017

The Chartered College of Teaching is following us on our research-based school development plan. At the beginning of the 2017-18 term, we introduced outdoor learning to our curriculum.

One of the main factors of making our new research plan work is engaging everyone with the Key Areas of Research we've identified.

 

'Pupil Voice' has always been at the core of what we do to monitor subject enjoyment and understanding, etc. However, this is the first time we've REALLY talked to our pupils so openly about school improvement, what this means and why their involvement, feedback, ideas and contributions are so vital in making our 'KAR' plan work.
