Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed a lovely half term with your children.
I have had some children ask on parent's behalf about their SATs scores. I do not send out a separate score sheet as their SATs and other evidence is used to form your child's end of year attainment level which is given in the report but I am happy to discuss the results with you if you'd like to arrange a time after school.
Thanks, Mrs Mulholland
Hi all, this month we will be carrying out our SATS (nearer the last two weeks of term).
As I said in the SATS meeting we 'play down' the SATS as much as possible as we do not want to worry the children. We do it as part of our normal class timetable as and when I see fit for the children.
Again, the SATS aren't the only assessment tool that I use for the children as I have gained other evidence for their progress over the year.
If you have any questions about the SATS please come and see me at the end of the day or arrange another meeting.
Thanks, Mrs Mulholland
Hi all, thank you for attending the SAT's information session. I hope it was helpful for you. As I mentioned on the evening, if there is anything you want to discuss further I am happy to arrange a meeting after school. I am attaching the documents I shared the other evening below. I will be sending out a letter regarding the CGP support books after the holidays as we have now sorted the online payment system for it.
I hope you and your children have a lovely holiday.
Thank you for your time and support,
Even though Emma won't be running our outdoor sessions anymore, myself and Mr Ullah will be, so please bring in appropriate outdoor clothing.
Also, today we had a very exciting visit from real life superheroes! Cookridge Green Watch Fire Service came to visit to explain all about their job and let us look at their uniform and some of us tried it on (Toby and myself!) we also had a try at using the hose and exploring the fire engine. Go to the photo section to see what we got up to!
Nativity time will soon be here and we have just started discussing who is going to play particular characters. The children have opted for their own speaking/non speaking part and I have encouraged all to give it a go because I know they will be amazing! I will be checking what costumes we have in school today, after school and will send a letter on Monday/Tuesday regarding what character your child is and what costumes they will be wearing (majority will be supplied by school, just some outfits will need other clothing from home). I will also send the song sheet home as the children were very keen to practice the songs home, as well as at school.
Thank you for your support in advance, have a great weekend,
On Wednesday we will be desgining our own 'Superveggies' as part of our literacy, inspired by our book Supertato by Sue Hendra. Please could you send a vegetable in for your child to help them create their own Supervegetable!
Thank you in advance
Year 2 would like to invite any 'real life superheroes' i.e. firefighters, doctors, police officers etc to help the children understand more about the important jobs that they do. Please see me if you can help with this.
Thank you, Mrs Mulholland
Thanks for all of your support this half term! Hope you and your family have a fabulous half term.
I have sent the spelling books home just in case you wanted to revisit the previous spellings. Forest school will be on Tuesday from now on. Please send your child with a coat and outdoor shoes.
Thanks, Mrs Mulholland
Thank you for sending in welly boots/outdoor shoes in with your children yesterday. We had a great time in the Peace Garden! Next week our outdoor session will be on Thursday afternoon so please could you send in wellies/outdoor shoes on that day. It will then be Tuesdays from then on unless I inform you otherwise.
Thanks for your support!
Forest school sessions are going to be held on Tuesday afternoon (sometimes Thursday- I will keep you informed) so please ensure wellies/suitable footwear and warm, outdoor coats are to be brought in/worn on that day.
Just a little reminder, we have lots of clothing without names on so we can't find out who it belongs too. Please remember to write your child's name on their clothes. We have rather a large pile of unnamed clothes in KS1 if you are missing something.
I am wondering if any parents/grandparents would be available to volunteer on our trip to the Rainbow Factory on the 25th September? An extra pair of hands would be greatly appreciated! If you could offer your help, please see me before or after school.
Thank you :-)
Please remember to bring trainers in for PE, in case we are outside. Also, girls need to have a bobble to tie up their hair.
