8.2.19- Spring 1 Week 5

In Maths this week we have been learning: 

- How to count one more and one less of numbers to 20, to 50 and to 100

- How to solve problems involving finding one more and one less 

- Using the vocabulary more than, greater than, equal to, less than and the corresponding signs.

1.2.19- Spring 1 Week 4

In Maths this week we have been:

-Counting forwards and backwards to 20

-Understanding numbers to 20

- Writing numbers to 20 as numerals and words

- Understanding that numbers above ten have a 'ten and a bit more'. We introduced this using tens and ones.

In Maths this week we have been learning:

-About 3D shapees reviewing our learning from last week

-The names of 2D shapes and their properties

-Different ways to sort 2D and 3D shapes

-Find the difference between two numbers and solving problems 

-Naming and beginning to describe the features of 3D shapes

In Maths this week we have been learning how to:

-Use a number line to count back when solving a subtraction sum

-Solve a range of problems when counting back on a number line

This week in Maths we have focused on subtraction and in particular using the part whole model to show the understanding of the sum. We also began to look at 'Fact Families'. Please see below for examples.

In Maths this week we have been learning how to:

-Use the subtraction sign and understand the concept of subtraction and 'take-away'

-Find how many are left and drawing an image to represent this

-Solving simple problems involving subtraction

-Using the whole part model to show understanding of a subtraction sum
